FAQ
Where are you located?
Sunny Southern California! I’m in Los Angeles and love to travel all over and often go to Palm Springs and Santa Barbara for events with nearly yearly visits to NYC, Paris and Wisconsin (where my family is). So far my travels have taken me to Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland, Canada, Mexico, Vietnam and Cambodia with dreams to visit basically every other country out there haha! My passport is always up to date and ready to go!
What’s your style?
I’m very moment-driven and have been described as a photo ninja. I love taking portraits with my couples and families, but often the magic is snuggled in those in-between moments. The giggles, the tears, the littlest kiddo digging for gold ;)
What kind of equipment do you use?
I use top of the line Canon equipment with a variety of lenses, flashes, tons of memory cards, batteries and I always have backup!
Are you insured?
YES! I always carry liability insurance and am more than happy to provide this if your venue requests it.
When do we get to see our photos?
I know you’re so excited to see your photos, and trust me, I’m super stoked to start working on them! I provide a sneak peek within a week of our session to help hold you over with the full gallery being delivered in approximately 4-8 weeks. These times are estimates, it’s often quicker during off season, but can also be a little longer during peak times, especially for larger events. At the end of our session I’ll give you an approximation of when you can anticipate your gallery.
Can we get the RAWS?
Short answer - no. Long answer - Half of what you hire me for is shooting, the other half is the edit I provide to all my images. For this reason, I do not deliver RAWS to clients as that would be an incomplete product and experience. Also, you wouldn’t be able to do anything with them as they require special software. It would essentially be like handing over the unprocessed negatives. They still need to be processed before you can even have images to view and print.
What kind of deliverables do we get?
This is such a big question and comes with an equally big answer! All sessions come with a private online viewing gallery to see all of your photos and a select amount of high resolution downloads built in. Every session is inclusive of all your edits in web res - so you have full access to share on socials, email and save to your phone background! Your gallery is linked up to a professional print lab (best in the industry!) with all kinds of goodies - prints, framed, matted, books, canvases and cards with a variety of sizes, paper types and more. You also have the option to purchase all of your high resolution images to download and print at a lab of your choosing. Though I do recommend my print lab as they use professional quality materials that are guaranteed archival for 100+ years with proper care. No streaky inkjet prints here! True photographic prints only - light on paper as it was intended to be :)
Will all the photos be edited?
YES! I apply my standard edit to all images you’ll see. Which means I correct for color, exposure, saturation, a little cropping here and there and some gentle retouching to select images (think blemish removal on a portrait or boogie removal on your cutest little one). I go through all your images one at a time to ensure they’re print ready and consistent. The images you see on my site are accurate representations of what you can expect to receive.
How many photos will we see in our gallery?
This totally depends on our session type, the amount of time we’re together, details, timeline and so much more! For minis (20 minute sessions) I guarantee 30 images, for full (one hour) sessions in the 100-130 range and for events I deliver approximately 100 photos per hour of coverage, though this varies depending on things like guest count, decor and location.
Do we need a shot list?
Not usually. I’ve been photographing full time for over a decade and have shot thousands of sessions and events, so I know all the key moments to capture, when to be where and will definitely provide even more micro moments you didn’t know were happening. The only time I’ll ask for a shot list (and guide you through this) is for larger family sessions or events where you’d like extended family photos. As your session approaches I’ll send along info on making the most of our time together, what to expect and more so we’re all on the same page and things go as smooth as buttah.
We’ve heard horror stories, what do you do to protect our images?
This is worst nightmare material right here and I take this very seriously. Technology will eventually fail in some way, which is why I shoot on two memory cards at the same time, so if one fails, there is a back up (and I don’t format until I deliver the session, because *anxiety*). I also back everything up on two separate hard drives and to the cloud, so your images have multiple homes. I encourage all clients to download and back up all their photos upon receipt for this same reason. Lastly, PRINT THEM! then you really got them for keeps ;)
How much should we expect to invest?
Family sessions start at $700 for a single session with a whole slew of collections for any type of occasion big and small, so be sure to inquire and we’ll get you sorted!
